Beaver 43, South Sevier 27 » A balanced effort was the key for the Beavers, as four players scored at least 8 points in an opening-round win. Shantae Dustin had 11 for the Rams, but slow first and third quarters hurt South Sevier’s effort.
Richfield 66, Millard 41 » The top-ranked team in the state didn’t have much trouble with the Eagles, scoring 39 points in the first half to sail ahead. Megan Bean and Sloane Roundy combined for 27 points, and 11 Wildcats scored in the game.
North Summit 50, ALA 39 » A 32-17 scoring margin in the second half made all the difference for the Braves, who came back to knock off the Eagles. Susie Stephens led North Summit with 14 points, and the Braves gained a huge advantage in free throws, taking 31 attempts to ALA’s nine.
Kanab 53, San Juan 33 » The Cowboys ambushed San Juan, taking a 21-4 lead in the first quarter, and led all the way. Calli Jackson had 18 points to lead Kanab, but Kaytee Glover and Whitney Houston also combined for 24 in the win.

South Summit 46, Manti 35 » The Wildcats managed to hold on in a tough first-round match with the Templars. Alisha Lewis’ 17 points led South Summit, and although the Wildcats were outscored in the fourth quarter, their lead was large enough to win.
