The Pirates dropped their season finale at Clearfield (8-0) and ended the season with a record of 0-16. Remarkably, the team produced just one goal over the entire 2011 campaign. While next year's prospects look better for the Pirates, Region 6 promises to be just as formidable.

Granger

Propelled by two second-half goals from Cecilia Cardoza, the Lancers defeated Kearns 2-0 to finish the season in fifth place in Region 2. Karla Soto led the team in goals with six, while goalie Lesha Shibahara recorded two shutouts on the season. For the Lancers (5-11) to improve, the team has to find a way to get better on defense. Granger was outscored 63-5 in region play.

Kearns

Ending the season on a 12-game losing streak doesn't leave many positives for next year, but that's what the last-place Cougars (1-14) are faced with. Kearns' young roster was overwhelmed in almost every match this year, but it still managed to play hard. While team improvements across the board are needed, just perfecting its passing game would be a step in the right direction.

Hunter

The Wolverines (5-12) split their final four matches of the season and qualified for the 5A state soccer tournament for the first time since 2008. However, the team's postseason stay was brief, as Lone Peak destroyed the Wolverines 9-1 in the opening round. Cadee Chatterton was the catalyst for the Wolverines, scoring 11 goals on the season, including the team's only playoff goal. After starting the season 0-5, Hunter rallied to win five of its next nine matches to take fourth place in Region 2.

Stansbury

Losing six out of seven matches over the final six weeks of the season prevented the Stallions (6-10) from reaching the Class 3A state tournament after a promising 4-3 start. An overtime loss to rival Tooele and a 1-0 defeat at Morgan (Sept. 22) were the key losses during this rough stretch. For the season, forward Rachel Luker led the team in goals with nine, while goalie Kelsey Johnson had three shutouts on the season.

Tooele

The Buffs' 5-11 season may not seem like much to crow about, but it was a four-win improvement over last year's dismal 1-14-1 record. Stacey Medley had a breakout season, scoring a team-high 15 goals to help the Buffs improve their offensive production from 14 to 33 goals this year. The team struggled in region play, winning just three of 12 matches, and it was just 1-4 in one-goal games.
