The Unified Police Department is hoping a little cash will help pry loose a tip or two about the vandals who shot out windows of more than 130 vehicles in nine Salt Lake Valley communities earlier this week.
The $500 reward was announced Wednesday, and UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said the cash will be paid out for information leading the arrest and conviction of the culprits.

In all, 134 vehicles sustained damage from vandals using BB or pellet guns to shoot out windows of cars and trucks late Monday night and early Tuesday morning, Hoyal said.
"We have very little suspect information," Hoyal said. "All the jurisdictions involved are working together to catch the suspects."
The incidents range from 30 vehicles damaged in Cottonwood Heights to 20 each in Murray and Taylorsville. Midvale had 17 reports, while Millcreek and South Salt Lake recorded 16 incidents each; West Jordan 9; Sandy five; and Holladay one.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact their local police departments.
