Women's Soccer: BYU signs seven, including five Utahns

BYU's women's soccer program has signed seven new recruits, including five all-state players from Utah.
"We're going to bring in a lot of Utah girls this year that we've known for a long time, and we're excited about that," said BYU coach Jennifer Rockwood. "All of these girls have been to camps over the years and we're really familiar with them."
The incoming freshmen will join the Cougars in early August.
Here are the signees:


* Taylor Campbell, defender, Alta High.
Campbell was a first-team all-stater in 2011 and Alta's defensive MVP. She was a second-team all-stater in 2009 and 2010 and a member of three state championship teams.

* Camille Green, defender, Viewmont High.
Green was a first-team all-stater in 2011 and lettered all four years for her high school team.

* Paige Hunt, midfielder/defender, Bountiful High.
Hunt was a first-team all-stater in 2010 and 2011. She was the Region 6 Co-MVP in 2011.

* Michelle Murphy, midfielder, Alta High.
Murphy was a second-team all-stater in 2009 and 2010 and the Tribune's 5A MVP in 2011.

* Courtnee Wood, forward, Layton High.
Wood was a second-team all-stater in 2011 and a top-10 scorer in 5A in 2011. She is also an all-region basketball player.

* Miranda Bailey, midfielder, Del Oro High School, Loomis, Calif.
Bailey was a 3-time first-team Sierra Foothill League selection and is her school's student body president.

* Sarah Chambers, forward/midfielder, North Medford (Ore.) High School.
Chambers was a first-team all-stater in 2010 and her team's MVP in 2009-11.
