Here's a few of last week's top prep performances:
Boys' basketball — Devin Bennett, Dixie: It's hard to argue with what the Flyers' leading scorer accomplished in an upset win over No. 1-seeded Judge Memorial on Saturday. His team down by eight, Bennett helped lead a 13-0 run to finish out the game, scoring eight points himself during the comeback. The senior finished with 16 points, and Dixie gets to go back to St. George to play for a shot at the 3A title.
Girls' basketball — Katie Berry, St. Joseph: It was only a few weeks ago that the Jayhawks didn't look at all like a state champion in a 58-21 loss to Rich. But St. Joseph made its run last week, thanks much in part to Berry. She led the team in scoring every game, combining for 68 points in her four contests. Now, the Jayhawks have their first-ever girls' basketball championship.
Wrestling — Morgan Sweat, Wasatch: The easiest thing to do would've been to roll over and let Payson's Mitch Brown when his fourth straight championship, but Sweat wasn't about to do that. The senior took it to Brown, scoring a 9-5 decision in the final minute and holding position for his second straight title. Sweat's win helped play a role in giving Delta its fourth straight team title, as Payson finished second by a handful of points.
